Terms of use

These terms govern the use of Marsof Academy. By creating your account you accept them. We've written them to be understood; if anything is unclear, ask us at carlosgc@marsofacademy.com.

Who provides the service

Marsof Academy is provided by Carlos Gálvez Carrillo (tax ID 49080222Q, address Calle Corín Tellado, 19, 21130 Mazagón, Moguer (Huelva); email carlosgc@marsofacademy.com). You'll find all their details in the legal notice.

The service

Marsof Academy is an online AI Engineering learning platform: lessons, exercises that run in your browser, reviews, exams, Workshop, Community, AI tutor and certificates. We improve and update it often, so some features may change or disappear; if you have bought Pro, those changes are also governed by the terms of sale.

Pro subscription

Marsof Academy is a paid subscription service (Pro): it can't be used without an active subscription. Buying Pro is also governed by the terms of sale and the refund policy, which prevail on the matters they specifically regulate. Study support: AI tutor and Community; there is no personalised human support.

Your account

  • You must be an adult (18 or older). You confirm it when signing up. If we detect that an account belongs to a minor, we will close it.
  • One account per person, with an email that is yours and a display name that doesn't impersonate anyone.
  • Your account is personal: don't share, transfer or sell it.
  • Look after your password. If you notice use you don't recognise, change it and tell us at carlosgc@marsofacademy.com.
  • You can delete your account whenever you want in Settings → Privacy and your data.

Acceptable use and Community rules

You may not:

  • Harass, insult, threaten or discriminate, or post content that is illegal, violent, sexual or infringes other people's rights (for example, their intellectual property or privacy).
  • Share exam answers, inside or outside the academy, or post full solutions to exercises or challenges: help with hints and questions.
  • Post other people's personal data, spam, advertising or malicious links.
  • In the chat: ask for or send personal photos, contact details or addresses, suggest meeting in person, pressure someone or keep messaging someone who doesn't reply. If someone makes you uncomfortable, block and report them.
  • Impersonate another person or the academy team.
  • Try to access other people's accounts or data, get around access restrictions (for example, sharing your account or using the academy without a subscription), attack, overload or test the security of the service without permission, or extract its content in bulk or automatically (scraping), including to train AI models.
  • Use the AI tutor for purposes unrelated to studying or try to make it reveal solutions or its internal instructions.

If you find a security flaw, write to us at carlosgc@marsofacademy.com instead of exploiting it: we'll be grateful.

Content moderation

  • To keep the Community useful and safe we use automatic filters (banned words and posting limits, stricter for new accounts) and human review by moderators.
  • In the chat, direct messages are only possible between friends and anyone can block another person. Moderators don't read direct messages: they only see what is reported (the message and the three before it in that conversation). If several different people report someone's messages within 24 hours, they are suspended from chat for 24 hours as a precaution until a moderator reviews it.
  • Anyone can report a post with the «Report» button or by writing to carlosgc@marsofacademy.com, explaining why they think it is illegal or breaks these rules (art. 16 of Regulation (EU) 2022/2065, the Digital Services Act).
  • Depending on how serious it is, a moderator may hide or delete a message, close or move a thread, suspend you from chat, or suspend your Community access temporarily or permanently; in serious or repeated cases, deactivate your account. We'll tell you the reason for the decision (art. 17 of the same Regulation).
  • If you disagree with a decision, write to us at carlosgc@marsofacademy.com: a person will review it and we'll reply.
  • We don't review posts before they appear: each person is responsible for what they write.

Your content

What you post in the Community and what you create in the academy (code, notes, files, explanations) remains yours. So that the Community can work, you give us a free, non-exclusive, worldwide licence to host, reproduce, display and adapt the format of your posts within the academy, while they are published and, if you delete your account without asking for them to be deleted, while they are kept anonymised. Your notes, Workshop files and projects aren't published: only you see them, unless you attach them to a post. By posting something, you confirm you have the right to do so.

The academy's intellectual property

The lessons, exercises, tests, solutions, exams, texts, illustrations, animations, code and design of Marsof Academy belong to Carlos Gálvez Carrillo or their authors and are protected by intellectual property law. While you have an account you may use them for your personal learning. You may not copy, distribute, publish or sell them, or use them to create another course or service, without written permission. We expressly reserve the use of the content for text and data mining, including training AI models (art. 4.3 of Directive (EU) 2019/790). Some parts of the software are open source and governed by their own licences.

Certificates

Certificates attest to what you have demonstrated on Marsof Academy and anyone with their code can check they are genuine. They aren't official qualifications and don't certify regulated education. They are issued automatically when you meet the requirements. If it is shown that a certificate was obtained by cheating (for example, with shared answers), we may cancel it, explaining the reason.

AI tutor

  • When you use the tutor you are talking to an artificial intelligence system, not a person. We also say so next to the tutor itself (art. 50 of Regulation (EU) 2024/1689, the AI Act). The tutor's automatic replies in the Community are always labelled.
  • By default it runs on an open model on our server. If the academy uses an external provider, you'll see it stated in the tutor and in the privacy policy.
  • The tutor can be wrong or give incomplete or outdated answers. Double-check what it tells you: it isn't professional advice (technical, legal, employment or any other kind) and doesn't replace a teacher. Its assessments, for example of an explanation of yours, are for guidance only.
  • Don't send it personal data (yours or other people's), passwords, API keys or confidential information.
  • It has an hourly usage limit so resources are shared fairly.

Availability and support

We work to keep the academy always available, but we can't guarantee it: there may be interruptions for maintenance, updates, failures or causes beyond our control. If we have to stop the service in a planned way, we'll try to let you know beforehand.

Study support is the AI tutor and the Community: there is no personalised human support and no guaranteed response times. For your account, payments, privacy and complaints we do help you by email at carlosgc@marsofacademy.com.

Suspension and closing your account

  • You can stop using the academy and delete your account whenever you want.
  • We may suspend or close an account that seriously or repeatedly breaches these terms, or when the law requires it, proportionately and explaining the reason. Except in urgent cases (security, illegal content), we'll warn you first so you can put it right. If the account has Pro, the terms of sale also apply.
  • If we ever stop offering the academy, we'll let you know at least 30 days in advance so you can download your data.

Liability

  • We are liable for the damage we cause you by breaching these terms, in accordance with the law. Nothing in them limits our liability for wilful misconduct or gross negligence or for damage to life or health, nor the rights consumer law gives you.
  • Outside those cases, we aren't liable for damage that isn't a foreseeable consequence of a breach on our part, for interruptions caused by third parties or force majeure, for how you use the tutor's answers or the content outside your studies, or for what other people post in the Community (we remove it when we know it is unlawful).
  • You are responsible for how you use your account and for what you post.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms, for example because of legal or service changes. If the change is significant, we'll let you know in the academy or by email at least 15 days in advance (unless an urgent legal change requires otherwise) and ask you to accept the new version. If you disagree, you can stop using the academy and delete your account; if you are Pro, you can also cancel your subscription at no cost. The current version and its date appear above.

Applicable law and disputes

These terms are governed by Spanish law. If you are a consumer living in another EU country, you also keep the protection of your country's mandatory rules. You can go to the courts of your place of residence. Before that, write to us at carlosgc@marsofacademy.com: almost everything is solved by talking.
